"As potential candidates view the vulnerability of Gov. Whitmer in what could be a ‘wave’ election, about a dozen challengers have already filed for the August 2022 Republican Primary,” said Eastside Republican chair Marie Hackleman in a statement.
“On the heels of Michigan’s mandated lock downs and resulting petition drives, interest is high in challenging the incumbent. We’ll be hearing from more of these gubernatorial candidates this year” Hackleman added.
Forum doors open at 7 p.m. for coffee and a meet and greet with Ryan Kelley in advance of the meeting. The Forum is open to the public at no charge, and all those interested in the Michigan gubernatorial race and learning more about the candidates are invited.
In addition to Kelley, we will also hear from Marian Sheridan, MIGOP Grassroots Vice Chair.
She is also coordinator of Guard the Vote operations, leader of Lakes Area Tea Party and Michigan Conservative Coalition.
Sheridan serves as "tip of the spear" in Mich. election integrity and security initiatives and will bring updates on a host of election fronts, including the latest in the case against “Zuckerbucks.”
Kelly is married to his wife Tabitha and they have five young children. Both called Michigan home for most of their lives and currently live in western Michigan.
As a small business owner, Kelley says he understands what it means for the middle class to work hard for the American dream.
As Michigan’s 50th Governor, Kelley says his goal will be to “ensure all Michigan residents are inspired to create prosperity in their own lives.” He believes that every individual is important and deserves freedom, hope, love, and prosperity.
